This past weekend was my great aunt's birthday and I thought a bouquet of flowers was just right for the occasion.
I recently picked up My Favorite Thing's More Rustic Wildflowers on sale for about $7 at Hallmark Scrapbook. I had been in the market for a flower layering stamp set for awhile; but I had been holding off because they are usually quite expensive, not to mention the amount of inks you'd need as well. However, when I seen this pretty simple flower set at the right price, I had to have it.
I used my Lawn Fawn inks to stamp out the images in a few different combinations. Before cutting them out, I used some Ranger Bridal Tinsel embossing powder on half of the flower images.
Once heat embossed, I laid out the images onto a white 65 lb. die cut panel. I had originally thought about adding a Lawn Fawn Fancy Banner, but it didn't look right. Then I thought about adding a ribbon bow, but when I laid that down, the card still seemed unbalanced.
That's when I decided the bouquet needed some stems. In this particular set there were no stems, but there was a branch stamp. I stamped out the branch image using two different colors of green and they looked enough like stems to me. :)
I used my Scan 'N Cut to cut out my images and I began to rearrange them on the card front. I started gluing them in place and added foam tape to the flowers in front. I slipped the branches/stems under the popped up flowers and added a pink bow.
I attached the panel to an A2 card based and stamped the inside with the "Happy Birthday" from Lawn Fawn's Wavy Sayings stamp set.
Thanks for stopping by!
