Clean & Simple Mother's Day

These Mother’s day cards are made up of subtle white diecut backgrounds and bright colored images.

I stamped the flower, stem, vase images from the Stampendous stamp set Bouquet for You onto some Canson watercolor paper, and used Zig cleancolor real brush markers to color them.

For the backgrounds I used Lawn Fawn’s Quilted Backdrop and Lil Inker Designs Stitched So Sunny background dies. I added some light pink cardstock to create a slight border to one of the cards and a tablecloth to the other using Lawn Fawn Lacy Borders.

For this one, I thought it needed a little something more because it seemed to be just floating there. Adding a sentiment to the light yellow tag looked better to me, I felt like it balanced out the green leaves on the other side of the vase.

Lawn Fawn Quilted Backdrop

When assembling the flower images onto the vases, I used foam tape to pop up the flowers in front. After that I attached the card panels to the corresponding card bases.

The owl image is from Lawn Fawn’s Mom+Me stamp set, colored on 65 lb. Recollections cardstock with alcohol markers.

For the focal panel, I die cut a circle out of some bright blue cardstock, previously embossed with some stitched clouds. I also cut the same circle out of some green cardstock and then ran that through the die cutter with a Lawn Fawn stitched border die to create the ground. I pieced the sky and the ground together onto a Sizzix scalloped circle I cut out of pink cardstock. Before I attached the colored image, I die cut some small clouds and added them behind the owls.

Lil Inker Designs Quilted Stitched Pattern Die

I used Lil Inker Designs Quilted Stitched Pattern Die for the background and matted it onto the pink cardstock to leave a 1/16” border. I also die cut a small bow and ½” strip out of the pink cardstock to place towards the bottom of the card.

I popped up the focal piece with fun foam using an ATG gun, completing the card front. I then attached the whole thing to a 5 9/16” x 4 5/16” card base.

Thanks for stopping by!
