I really put my stamps to use recently, this was the very first time I used Lawn Fawn's adorable Upon a Star stamp set. This was also the first card where I attempted a galaxy background using distress inks.
So for the background, I stamped the stars and constellations with Versa Mark ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I used wilted violet, faded jeans, and black soot distress oxides for the galaxy. I started by splotching each ink color onto the paper with a foam blending tool, then used the lighter colors to blend everything together. I added more color here and there when needed. Then I sprayed it with a distress sprayer. I used a paper towel to pick up the water and then wiped off the embossed images to make them pop.
To make the card more Father's day themed I added the Dad stamp from Dad + Me onto a black sentiment banner, and embossed it with white detail embossing powder.
The little fox images were stamped with Lawn Fawn's jet black ink and colored with Blick studio brush markers on 65 lb Recollections cardstock.
For the grass, I used the grassy border die and shabby shutters and mowed lawn distress inks. Again I heat embossed the sentiment with Versa Mark ink and clear embossing powder.
Thanks for stopping by!
