I'm sharing another project today for the Thoughtful Story Team using Thoughtful Studio's Emerald Tessa paper collection.
I had recently colored up the adorable images from the Let Love Grow stamp set, designed by Helen Dardik for Waffle Flower, with Emerald Tessa in mind. I like to think of them as little garden sprites and thought they would add a nice pop of color in a garden full of greenery.
To start, I stamped the images onto a piece of 80 lb. Neenah card stock with Gina K. black amalgam ink. I used Copic markers to color in the images and then fussy cut them out.
I brought in a bunch of dies from my collection for the card fronts and sentiments (listed below) and started to lay out my patterned green papers.
For my first card, I used a piece of ephemera from the paper collection as my sentiment and layered some gold foil card stock behind it.
I took a few different green patterns and die cut some garden foliage pieces. I cut a couple from gold card stock as well, and layered them behind the sentiment strip.
Finally, I added my colored image on top of that.
Since this next little sprite was covered in strawberries, I used the colors pink and green to match. I layered a border, cut from the Emerald Tessa heart pattern, on top of a piece of pink card stock.
I added the image to the center of the card panel and then added the 'HELLO friend' die cuts on the top and bottom of that, which I cut from some white and gold foil card stock.
For some extra embellishments, I cut a bunch of tiny hearts from the gold foil card stock and sprinkled them across the front.
This card come together pretty quickly when I realized that the feather pen in the ephemera sheet fit perfectly in the arms of the blueberry character. I cut away a piece of the pen image so that it would fit around the arm of the character and glued it down.
I cut an A2 purple card stock panel and layered a green patterned piece on top of that to leave an 1/8" border.
Then I used a word die from Simon Says Stamp that looked hand lettered, and laid it out onto the card front so that it seemed like character had written it.
I glued everything down with liquid adhesive and added some more gold foil hearts trailing behind the image.
For my final card, I used a double stitched rectangle die on an A2 white card stock panel.
I cut some more foliage from my patterned card stock and added it to the white panel along with my colored image.
The sentiment was cut with the same die as my previous card, out of some gold foil card stock.
I glued everything down with some liquid adhesive to finish this clean and simple card.
Then I created four A2 card bases using 110 lb. white card stock and attached each of the card fronts.
I think these cards turned out super cute and the fun green patterns were the perfect pairing for the little garden sprites!
