Queen has always been one of my favorite bands, along with Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, so it was really exciting when the movie Bohemian Rhapsody was released and reignited the excitement surrounding Queen. So much so, that Kindred Stamps turned Freddie into a stamp!
I got this image from the stamp set Rock On and I knew the best place to put him was on a stage. I cut some curtain like shapes out of dark red cardstock and used an embossing stylus to make some lines to resemble folds. I used my Scan ‘N Cut to create the scalloped valance for the top of the curtains, and some gray cardstock for the floor.
I wanted to incorporate one of their popular songs as well as some sort of reveal, so I decided to use a color slider themed around the song Radio GAGA. On the front sliding portion, I drew a radio with micron pens and colored it in with Copic markers.
For the sentiment I stamped “GO GA GA” with Lawn Fawn’s Milo’s ABCs. Once you pull the tab, the whole sentiment is revealed to say “It’s your birthday. Go Ga Ga!” and Freddie can be seen in the spotlight.
I colored up the stamped image with alcohol markers and used distress inks and sponge daubers to create the spotlight and ground. Then, I used some gold foil cardstock elements to add some pizzazz!
Finally, I lined up the ground Freddie was standing on with the ground of the paper pieced stage and popped up the slider on some foam tape.
Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a Rockin’ day!
