Mummy Trick-or-Treater - Kinda Cute Digi

Hello!

Today I'm sharing a project using this little mummy boy digital stamp from Kinda Cute. I went full-out with colors for this card and made a green nontraditional mummy, with bright magenta wrappings.

I was inspired to use this color scheme because of a new paper pad that I picked up at Joann's, called Monster Movie by DCWV.

I was drawn to it because it was full of colors you don't usually see or think of as Halloween. It includes some light blue, teal, magenta, red, and yellow, as opposed to the traditional black and orange or green and purple.

So, to start, I opened my image in Inkscape, along with an extra pumpkin pail from the Kinda Cute Halloween filler set, and printed it onto a piece of 80 lb. Neenah card stock.

Once I had it printed, I colored the image with Prismacolor colored pencils in coordinating colors to the paper collection.

I fussy cut the little mummy and thought it would be super cute to add some tiny googly eyes! 😄 After adding two tiny wiggle eyes, I set the image aside and picked out two patterns from the 6" x 6" paper pad.

I chose a pattern with a bunch of houses because the mummy boy would fit right in with the rest of the trick-or-treaters in the pattern. Then, I used a less busy pattern to layer behind my image so he would stand out.

I trimmed the house paper to 4" x 5 1/4" and layered it onto an A2 110 lb. white card base. Then I used the more subtle pattern with the bats, to create a 1 1/2" x 5 1/4" strip that I layered towards the right side of the card.

Next, I popped up my image onto the card front using some foam dots.

For the sentiment, I used two banners that read "happy" and "halloween" from a Simple Stories ephemera pack called Boo Crew. I used some liquid adhesive to glue the banners onto the center of the card front.

I'm really happy with how this card turned out. It's so fun and bright! I really enjoyed coloring this lil' guys wrappings a color I've never seen on a mummy before. 😂
