I am in love with this Ornate Background stamp from Simon Says Stamp.
Like with a lot of my craft supplies, I see them, I love them, I have to have them and then they sit in a box. It takes me a long time to get around to actually using them, but once I got to this one, I'd definitely say I got my moneys worth from this stamp! :)
It's so versatile and the design makes any card pop. I took inspiration from a card I seen on Pinterest for this set of two.
I first stamped the image onto 110 lb. cardstock with Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
I used distress oxide inks in the colors Fossilized Amber, Abandoned Carol, Peacock Feathers, Spiced Marmalade and Twisted Citron. Taking my sponge blending tool, I dabbed the colors randomly across the card and blended where they met. Adding more color when needed.
After blending, I took a dry paper towel and wiped the extra ink off the embossed image.
For the sentiments, I used the Art-C Thinking of You Stamp and Die set from Michaels. I stamped them with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder onto Recollections black 65 lb. cardstock.
I trimmed them down and popped them up with some Scotch foam tape.
I love how bright and cheery these came out and how they can be turned into any type of card just by changing up the sentiment. Definitely not the last time I'll be using this stamp.
Thanks for stopping by! :)
