Sweet Birthday

It was a very busy weekend accompanied by tons of Lawn Fawn and a lot of Sara Bareilles. :) It started with this shaker card, that wasn't supposed to be a shaker.

Using Lawn Fawn's baked with love and sweet friends, I masked together the birthday cake, candles, and cake stand. I colored everything with Blick studio brush markers in coordinating colors to the DCWV Confetti paper. I fussy cut the images and lined the edges with a Memento tuxedo black marker.

Initially I wanted to have the cake surrounded by the cupcakes, popped up with foam dots inside a scalloped circle cut out. However, it didn't matter what I did, in combination with the sentiment (stamped on an everyday sentiment banner with peacock ink), I just couldn't get it to look as cute as I pictured it in my head.

So instead, I colored a fifth cupcake and added a Doodlebug glitter background with iridescent seed beads and sequins. I popped up the front panel with a double layer of Scotch foam tape and used Cricut brand acetate for the window.

P.S. I wouldn't use those acetate sheets in the future. In the picture its not really noticeable, but in person the plastic is a little foggy looking.

Overall, I think this card turned out super cute even though it gave me some problems along the way.

Thanks for stopping by!
